Greetings guys and welcome to the first of what I hope to be many blogs on the new website.
Well, as I write, I still believe we can stay up; the battling performance at Doncaster and the subsequent three points earned would suggest that is a possibility, with Palace, Scunthorpe, Watford, Wednesday and even Preston looking under pressure and certainly within catching distance.
People have been asking me what I think of Paul Mariner. Personally, I think he is doing a great job, along with John Carver, and I think he has a good eye for a player, which has been one of our main weaknesses over the last 2 years. The emergence of BWP has been great and one can only wonder where we would have been had he been available for selection earlier in the season.
Clearly, the injury to my Player of the Season - Carl Fletcher - has not been as damining as I had expected and it is great to see the under-rated Chris Clark filling the gap as he does best - our real Mr Utility!
I sent a text on April Fool's Day to several mates intimating that we had a new coach in imminence - a Zimbabwean by the name of Prila Folo (get it??!). Most didn't fall for it, but there were one or two who did, despite protesting that they were just humouring me after I explained the anagram -no names... Kev McCall!
Just to let you know as well that there are a few back issues from issues 103-106 left. Just click on the Subscriptions and Back Issues section on the sidebar.
You can add your comments to any of my ramblings in the comment section below. Feel free to email me also, I will be glad to hear from you.
I am glad to have been able to write my first blog for the website in such buoyant mood.
